Overview
As an M365 Consultant, you apply Microsoft 365 expertise to protect information, data security, and compliance for clients. You work within a delivery team to implement secure M365 environments and govern data across collaboration and analytics platforms. You will address evolving security and compliance challenges and support data protection initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to shape secure cloud journeys and work closely with client IT and security teams to deliver impactful configurations.
Responsibilities- Implement and configure Microsoft Purview solutions (labels, encryption, DLP, retention, records management) across Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams
- Support data discovery, classification, and protection initiatives for information security and compliance
- Deploy and configure Defender for Office 365 (Safe Links, Safe Attachments, anti-phishing, anti-malware)
- Configure Defender for Cloud Apps to monitor data sharing, control sessions, and identify risky activities
- Maintain awareness of endpoint risk and integrate Defender for Endpoint with Conditional Access and Zero Trust
- Support advanced data protection scenarios (Insider Risk Management, Communication Compliance, eDiscovery, regulatory compliance)
- Configure and secure Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams; assist with identity and access using Entra ID
- Contribute to data governance across analytics platforms, supporting discovery, classification, and protection in environments like Microsoft Fabric and Data Lake
- Collaborate with client IT and security teams; participate in workshops and communicate decisions, risks, and recommendations
- 2:1 degree in Computer Science or related field; certifications such as SC-900, SC-400, MS-900, or MS-102
- 2–5 years of experience with Microsoft 365 environments
- Hands-on Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams administration, and Microsoft Entra ID fundamentals
- Experience implementing Purview Information Protection, DLP, retention, or compliance policies
- Proven track record delivering projects or platform changes beyond routine support
- Exposure to Insider Risk management, eDiscovery, or Defender for Office 365 is advantageous
- Experience with Defender for Cloud Apps (data visibility, sharing controls, policy configuration) is desirable
- Understanding Defender integration with Purview, Entra ID, and Conditional Access is beneficial
- Experience leading workshops or acting as a subject matter expert in client-facing or consulting environments
