M365 Operational Support Engineer – Contract

Location: Hybrid Bckinghamshire 1 day per week onsite, 4 days remote

Contract Length: 6 months

Start: ASAP

Rate c £450 pd INSCOPE OF IR35

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 (M365) Operational Support Engineer to join a busy technology environment on an initial 6-month contract.

This is a hands-on operational role focused on the day-to-day support, administration and management of an M365 tenant. We are particularly interested in contractors with a strong background across Microsoft collaboration and messaging technologies who have previously worked in environments transitioning from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft 365.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support and administration of the Microsoft 365 tenant
• Support and manage Exchange Online and email services
• Provide operational support for Microsoft Teams
• Support and administer Teams Phone / Teams Telephony
• Troubleshoot messaging, collaboration and user-related M365 issues
• Manage incidents, service requests and operational issues through to resolution
• Support the ongoing management, stability and performance of the M365 environment
• Work closely with internal infrastructure and support teams
• Apply experience gained from on-premises Microsoft environments and migrations/transitions to M365

Essential Experience

We are looking for someone with strong commercial experience across:

• Microsoft 365 administration and operational support
• Exchange Online / Microsoft email technologies
• Microsoft Teams
• Teams Phone / Teams Telephony
• M365 tenant administration and management
• Microsoft collaboration and messaging technologies
• Troubleshooting and resolving M365 operational issues
• Previous on-premises Exchange/Microsoft infrastructure experience, ideally combined with experience of moving into or supporting a cloud-based M365 environment

This role would suit an experienced M365 Engineer, M365 Support Engineer, Messaging & Collaboration Engineer, Exchange Online Engineer or Microsoft 365 Administrator who enjoys remaining hands-on and providing operational support rather than working solely on project delivery.
