Machine Learning Navigation Engineering Intern

Apply machine learning and firmware skills in Richmond Hill as an in-office Navigation Engineering Intern with Trimble Applanix. Work on real-time systems.

This 16-month internship supports machine learning development for Trimble Applanix APX/AP+ firmware. You will implement algorithms, analyze data, debug systems, and organize datasets. The position suits students enrolled in master's or PhD programs in electrical, computer, aerospace, or mechatronics engineering. Work begins in May 2027 with zero travel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop machine learning activities for APX/AP+ firmware
• Debug real-time systems and analyze engineering data
• Implement algorithms for navigation system performance
• Organize datasets supporting navigation model improvements
• Document system-level integration and ongoing development

Requirements:

• Enrollment in a relevant master's or PhD program
• Google Tensor Python development experience
• TinyML deployment experience in MCU environments
• Kalman filtering and machine learning expertise
• C/C++ development experience in real-time Linux environments

Build navigation firmware through machine learning, Kalman filtering, C/C++, Python, Linux, and TinyML engineering.
