Machine Learning Platform Engineer

Help power autonomous agents at Asana through platform engineering, production code, and reliable distributed services in Vancouver. The schedule is office-centric hybrid.

This Software Engineer role spans AI platform foundations and runtime infrastructure supporting Asana’s human-agent operating system. You will own small-to-medium features, evaluate latency, cost, and reliability trade-offs, and maintain production Areas of Responsibility. The position also involves on-call participation, complex debugging, technical estimation, and collaboration across engineering, product, design, and data science.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build services supporting autonomous agents and agentic automation
• Evaluate foundation-model integration trade-offs
• Maintain Areas of Responsibility and production pipelines
• Participate in team on-call rotations
• Diagnose asynchronous and distributed-system issues

Requirements:

• Two or more years of professional software engineering experience
• Production experience with modern distributed architectures
• Knowledge of software design, testing, and data structures
• Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies
• Ability to ship complex changes with minimal oversight
