Machine Learning Researcher PhD

Advance AI/ML research at Atlassian, focusing on LLMs and Generative AI with flexibility to work remotely, from offices, or both. British Columbia co-location is preferred.

This Grad++ opportunity is for doctoral students graduating by August 2027. You will explore advanced machine learning technologies addressing complex real-world problems for Atlassian products. The work includes research, experimentation, and model development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design machine learning system and model architectures
• Conduct rigorous experimentation and model evaluations
• Apply AI/ML to diverse product problems
• Contribute to Atlassian Intelligence features
• Develop AI solutions for enterprise impact

Requirements:

• Computer Science or relevant technical bachelor's degree
• Full-time doctorate enrollment with August 2027 graduation
• Strong foundation in AI/ML, LLMs, and optimization
• Research, publishing, and large-scale model development experience
• Python, PyTorch, and machine learning framework proficiency preferred
