Overview

As a Macro Analyst in DRW’s London-based research team, you translate market dynamics into forward-looking views to support Delta 1 and volatility pricing and trade structuring. You work closely with equity teams and traders, delivering real-time analysis and scalable research processes across sectors and cross-asset coverage. You’ll liaise with external data vendors and collaborate with software engineers to build data tools that generate actionable ideas. This role offers a direct link between research insights and revenue generation in a fast, high-expectation environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide real-time analysis on macro stories and headlines
  • Collaborate with traders to structure trades around research outputs
  • Develop sector-wide macro themes and macroeconomic theses
  • Maintain dividend and earnings calendars
  • Create implied probability distributions around events
  • Work with Software Engineers to develop automated web scraping and data analytics tools
  • Manage relationships with investor relations teams, sell-side desks, and data vendors
  • Engage in DRW hiring processes to help grow the team
Key requirements
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and global macro themes
  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong understanding of descriptive statistics
  • Coding capability in R, Python, Matlab or similar statistical language
  • Ability to synthesize qualitative and messy quantitative information from disparate sources
  • Experience working with large data sets
