Mainframe Migration and Hardware Architect

Shape Mainframe hardware migrations and platform transitions for Government of Ontario services, using enterprise infrastructure oversight and project management expertise.

This Senior Technology Architect supports Mainframe acquisition, installation, migration, upgrades, and decommissioning activities. The assignment includes disaster recovery hardware work at the CO-LO site and software optimization under Datacenter Transformation. Candidates need large-scale infrastructure experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Mainframe hardware installation and migration projects
• Maintain operating system and software upgrade continuity
• Provide migration support for networking components
• Assist disaster recovery hardware project activities
• Prepare technical MOPs and document root causes

Requirements:

• 10+ years supporting Mainframe infrastructure oversight
• Experience with complex data centre uplift projects
• Experience overseeing refresh and transition activities
• Knowledge of large-scale Mainframe operational support
• Recent experience within the past three years
