Major Projects Town Planning and Consents Lead (Infrastructure Planning)

In this role you will lead consenting inputs for major infrastructure projects, guiding multi-disciplinary teams to secure approvals under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and the Planning Act 2008. You will provide technical advice to clients, coordinate consent applications, and act as Project Director on projects within WSP's Infrastructure Planning business. You will negotiate with statutory bodies, support growth opportunities, and mentor colleagues. This is a chance to shape landmark projects with a globally connected, inclusive firm.

- Lead consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs)
- Provide technical advice and manage clients' consenting requirements
- Coordinate preparation and submission of consent applications under relevant regimes
- Act as Project Director for Infrastructure Planning projects
- Lead complex negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders
- Serve as Planning Expert Witness at examinations or hearings
- Support Service Line Director and Sector Leads in pursuing new work
- Line management and mentoring of colleagues in project delivery
- Degree level qualification in town planning (or equivalent)
- Member of (or eligible for) RTPI
- Strong understanding of project finances
- Sound project management experience in a consultancy environment

- Experience with consent regimes under TCPA1990, Planning Act 2008, Planning (Wales) Act 2015, Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act, Transport and Works Act Order, Electricity Act
