Manager, Data Aggregation & Distribution L2 Support

Overview

In this role you lead a L2 data support team within Parexel's Data & Technology group, driving data ingestion, engineering and distribution operations. You will oversee day-to-day support, act as an escalation point for data pipeline issues, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on data services requirements for cloud-based solutions. You will standardize and improve data support processes across Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Denodo and Power BI. You help ensure reliable data delivery and governance to support patients and stakeholders. This is a high-impact leadership role in a global CRO environment with growth and transformation opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of L2 data support specialists, including performance reviews and career development
  • Oversee triage, diagnosis, and resolution of data pipeline, ingestion, and distribution issues
  • Serve as escalation point for unresolved technical issues and coordinate with platform data teams
  • Monitor support queues and ensure timely resolution per SLAs
  • Maintain and enforce runbooks, procedures, and escalation protocols
  • Collaborate with platform data teams, data engineering, analytics and business functions to identify data services requirements
  • Engage with vendors to support data delivery and manage performance expectations
  • Provide regular status reporting on team activities, system performance, issue trends, and service quality
  • Contribute to data platform planning discussions and cross-functional meetings
  • Identify opportunities to improve data support operations, governance, and tooling across Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Denodo, and Power BI
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Computer Science (or related technical field) or equivalent work experience
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms: Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Denodo
  • Knowledge of Data Lake design principles and data pipeline monitoring/incident management
  • Familiarity with Power BI and data visualization tools
  • Experience with ITSM/ticketing platforms (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Understanding of data governance and quality standards in enterprise environments
  • Knowledge of GxP or life sciences data environments is an advantage
  • Strong people management and leadership capabilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences
