Overview

Lead the UK&I Data Engineering function to drive cloud modernization, governance, and scalable data solutions that enable risk-based decision making. You will align cross-functional teams with product and security partners to deliver mission-critical data products. You will shape the technology strategy, balance delivery with long-term vision, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. This role offers scope to influence data platforms, AI adoption, and regulatory compliance across a global organisation. You will work with stakeholders across the business to deliver impactful outcomes at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support data engineers with clear priorities and consistent delivery
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation
  • Support career development, succession planning, talent acquisition, and workforce planning
  • Promote knowledge sharing and engineering excellence across US and UK teams
  • Oversee delivery of data products, ingestion pipelines, reporting solutions, and customer-facing capabilities
  • Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives using Azure, Databricks, and cloud-native services
  • Ensure adherence to data governance, privacy, security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Product, Analytics, Architecture, Operations, and Business Leaders to deliver scalable technical solutions
Key requirements
  • Experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Platforms, or related technology disciplines
  • Leadership experience managing technical teams
  • Strong expertise in modern data engineering practices, data architecture, and large-scale data platforms
  • Experience delivering cloud-based solutions, preferably using Azure technologies
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, security, compliance, and risk management requirements
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives and complex cross-functional programs
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organisational leadership skills
