Manager, Software Engineering (UK Remote)

As Engineering Manager, you lead global, cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-impact integrity-focused education products. You drive people development, foster psychological safety, and ensure alignment with company objectives across distributed teams. You set clear goals, coach engineers, and instill a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You’ll partner with Product, UX, Security, DevOps, and Customer Success to deliver on time while advancing technical excellence and delivery. • Lead and empower a globally distributed engineering team to deliver high-impact results
• Collaborate with Product, Solution Architects, and other engineering teams to drive alignment and innovation
• Provide hands-on leadership with measurable goals and a culture of accountability
• Conduct regular 1:1s, feedback, and career development to maximize team performance and well-being
• Define and oversee technical roadmaps, delivery milestones, and cross-functional dependencies
• Provide technical oversight with the Tech Lead across the Product Development Life Cycle
• Analyze quality metrics to identify optimization opportunities and drive continuous improvement
• Stay current with tools, frameworks, and development methodologies and propose changes
• Promote transparency and effective communication with stakeholders across the organization
• Own the software built by the team and model ownership and accountability
• Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline OR equivalent work experience
• Experience across time zones and geographies with flexible working style
• Strong hands-on engineering skills with modern software development practices
• Experience using JavaScript frameworks and Java in an AWS serverless environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration with globally distributed teams
• Proven project management and ability to prioritize multiple initiatives
• Understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and processes
• Leadership experience across multiple teams including hiring, mentoring, and development
• Coaching and mentoring for individuals and peers
• Ability to influence and motivate teams to high performance
• Hands-on experience with scalable front-end and back-end applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
