In this role you will lead the Localization Engineering team to architect and scale AI-driven localization pipelines, partnering with QA, PM, and product engineering. You will drive continuous localization infrastructure, integrating TMS, NMT, and LLM capabilities into production-ready services. You will guide cross-functional teams across geographies, shaping engineering strategy and ensuring secure software development. Responsibilities
  • Lead a functional team of localization engineers and drive efficiency through automation across geographies.
  • Set strategic direction for the department and guide reports on goals and procedures.
  • Manage all aspects of the department including performance management and professional growth.
  • Build and improve Continuous Localization infrastructure and services for SAS software and docs.
  • Architect next-generation localization workflows combining NMT and LLM frameworks.
  • Develop scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices for automated localization workflows.
  • Design integrations between product systems, TMS, content repositories, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Partner with QA to drive automation frameworks for validation and linguistic QA.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to align engineering with localization strategy.
  • Provide tooling, automation, and AI-enabled localization guidance to development teams.
  • Evolve shared localization tools, frameworks, and standards.
  • Develop metrics related to localization quality, throughput, and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies for secure software development.
Key requirements
  • 6+ years in a technical localization management role
  • 3+ years of people management
  • Bachelor in Computer Science or Business; Master’s preferred
  • Proven track record leading engineering teams and managing technical projects
  • Ability to influence workflow adoption across product teams using clear communication
  • Expertise in AI/ML technologies applied to developer tools or localization workflows
  • Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Python or similar languages
  • Experience with Translation Management Systems (TMS) and localization workflows
  • Experience with Neural Machine Translation
  • Experience with GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with automated localization testing frameworks (Robot Framework, Playwright)
  • Experience developing AI/ML based tools or plugins for developer efficiency and global readiness
