Manager, UX Development

Overview

As Manager, UX Development, you lead Elekta’s global UX Development team to deliver effective, safe, and user-friendly software. You’ll own the Design System (UI Monorepo and ECL) and align front-end efforts with product goals. You’ll partner with Product and Engineering leaders to maximise UX quality and development efficiency, and advocate user-centered design across the business. This role offers scope to shape cross-functional UX practices in a regulated medical devices context.

• Line-manage and develop the UX Developers team, handling hiring, performance and career growth
• Prioritise team work across Elekta products to maximise UX quality and business impact
• Build and maintain stakeholder networks with Product and Engineering leaders
• evangelise user-centered design and communicate measurable case studies
• Collaborate with the UXD MT to ensure a unified team approach and resource sharing
• Ensure high-quality deliverables on time and to promises
• Maintain awareness of other UXD domains to market team skills
• Mentor colleagues on UX/UI/Front-end best practices
• Oversee front-end development and support for key software products
• Lead development and adoption of Elekta’s Design System and ECL, and drive adoption
• Oversee UI Monorepo tools, CI/CD, testing, internationalisation, accessibility
• Measure Design System and UI Monorepo impact on engineering efficiency and product quality
• Integrate user feedback to continuously improve the Design System and tooling
• Lead awareness and training activities for UX/ User-Centered Design
• Mature front-end engineering practices and define development, testing, security and delivery standards
• Stay current with medical device regulations and front-end technologies

• Strong time-management in fast-paced environments
• Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, HCI or similar
• 8+ years as a Senior/Lead UX Developer in complex product domains
• 2+ years in managing a UX/Front-end Development team
• Experience developing front-end software and/or business/web/mobile apps
• Experience building or managing a component library or design system
• Understanding of regulatory constraints in medical devices
• Delivery ownership of large, complex projects end-to-end
• Proven case studies showing measurable business impact from UCD
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
• Fluency in English
