Overview

As Manager, UX Research, you lead Elekta’s global UX Research team to ensure our hardware and software are user-friendly and safe. You’ll oversee usability testing within regulatory processes and partner with Product Management and Engineering to drive user-centred design. You evangelise UCD, measure its business impact, and communicate value to executives. This role blends leadership, research strategy, and cross-functional collaboration to improve patient care through design excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of UX Researchers, including hiring, performance management, and career development
  • Prioritise resources across products/projects to maximise UX quality and business impact
  • Build and maintain relationships with Product and Engineering stakeholders; manage progress updates
  • Advocate for UCD benefits with tangible case studies showing business impact
  • Coordinate with UXD domains to promote the wider team’s capabilities
  • Oversee UX research and usability testing methods, promoting iterative UCD across products
  • Lead Usability Engineering for regulated medical devices and support regulatory submissions/approvals
  • Manage phased launch feedback loops to drive ongoing UX improvements
  • Quantify UX quality across research and testing activities to benchmark against competitors
  • Leverage internal and external research (2nd/3rd party) to inform product UX improvements
  • Balance internal capabilities with external agencies and manage a roster of qualified research partners
  • Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art UCD practices for regulated devices
Key requirements
  • Master’s degree in relevant field or equivalent
  • 8+ years' experience as a Senior/Lead UX Researcher in complex product domains
  • 2+ years' experience managing a UX team and mentoring UX professionals
  • Knowledge of Usability Engineering processes and regulations for regulated medical devices
  • Proven leadership with senior stakeholders and cross-functional influence on UCD
  • Track record of measurable business impact from UCD initiatives
  • Strong storytelling ability to convey UX concepts to all business levels
