Managing Consultant - Software Engineering

In this Managing Consultant role, you shape strategy and delivery for complex client challenges within PA’s Defence & Security focus. You will lead cross-functional teams, drive new service propositions, and steer business development with senior stakeholders. You’ll collaborate with FTSE 100 clients, translating technical insight into business value while coaching and enabling your colleagues to thrive. • Lead architecture and development teams to deliver end-to-end solutions for complex client challenges
• Shape and launch new service propositions, driving strategic business growth
• Lead business development efforts, building trusted client relationships and owning outcomes
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and FTSE 100 clients, guiding through complex challenges with clarity

• Proven experience leading architecture and development teams on complex client projects
• Strong understanding of the defence sector with cross-domain experience (banking/insurance/payments/wealth management)
• Ability to articulate architectural strategies across multiple domains (application, business, integration)
• Proven relationship-builder with senior stakeholders and ability to translate technical insights into business value
• Track record in business development, including pre-sales and proposals
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks and modelling tools (UML, ArchiMate); awareness of trends and technologies
• Established network of senior sector stakeholders to support long-term client partnerships
