Marine Systems Technologist Specialist

Marine systems expertise anchors this Technologist Specialist position with Weir Marine Engineering, supporting Navy equipment from Halifax, LaSalle, Lévis, or Victoria.

Working within the integrated Mechanical Engineering Systems and Equipment team, you provide technical support across design, installation, operation, and maintenance. The position combines office and shipboard or dockyard work, including physical surveys and inspections. You will assess material state, maintain records, and coordinate support for the MSV Program. Technical writing, maintenance documentation, Microsoft Office, and O365 knowledge are central to the work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide subject matter expertise for designated marine systems and equipment
• Assess and report system material state throughout ship operational cycles
• Manage information and records within RCN and NETE systems
• Develop and maintain MSV Program support processes and planning
• Coordinate support activities across stakeholder organizations

Requirements:

• Recognized technologist certification or qualifying military technical training
• Proficiency with maintenance procedures and documentation
• Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
• Knowledge of marine systems maintenance, operation, design, or troubleshooting
• Canadian citizenship and eligibility for minimum Secret clearance
