In this role you develop highly mathematical Java software to implement optimisation algorithms for modelling industrial processes and scheduling. You will work within a small, expanding engineering team to deliver models that drive tangible time and cost savings for clients. The position blends deep mathematics with software engineering to handle large codebases and robust, maintainable solutions. Responsibilities
  • develop mathematical Java code to implement optimisation algorithms
  • model and optimise complex industrial processes and logistics
  • simulate resource dependencies and scheduling interactions
  • debug and maintain Java software in large codebases
  • contribute to scalable and robust software design
Key requirements
  • strong mathematics or mathematical modelling background
  • proficient in Java; C++ or C# acceptable
  • good grasp of software engineering practices (version control, code reviews)
  • ability to work with large, complex codebases
  • commercial coding experience valued but not essential
