Overview

As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you will lead commissioning activities for a data centre project in London, ensuring mechanical systems perform to specification and quality standards. You will work closely with design, electrical and controls teams to align sequencing and deliver validated performance. Your role focuses on planning, testing and issue resolution to support safe, compliant project delivery. This opportunity lets you shape commissioning strategy on major critical infrastructure and contribute to reliability and efficiency at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement detailed commissioning plans and procedures for mechanical systems
  • Perform and witness pre-functional checks, start-up activities, and performance testing of chilled water, CRAC/CRAH, ventilation and fuel oil systems
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with design, construction, electrical and controls teams
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, test records, and progress reports
  • Identify, track and close out commissioning issues with site teams and the commissioning authority
  • Ensure commissioning work adheres to health and safety procedures, permits and risk assessments
Key requirements
  • Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent trades background
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role on large scale construction projects (preferably Data Centres)
  • Based within commutable distance of London
