Join Kraken’s Consumer Mobile team as a React Native expert shaping the mobile experience that millions rely on for their crypto journeys. You will craft fluid, gesture-driven interactions and performant UI that feel native and trustworthy. Collaborate with designers to elevate motion, contribute to the design system, and drive architectural choices influencing responsiveness. Your work will set the quality floor for the mobile organization and impact how users interact with crypto products at scale. Responsibilities
  • Own the craft layer of the React Native mobile experience with fluid gestures and native-feeling transitions
  • Push React Native beyond defaults using Reanimated, Skia, and native module bridges
  • Collaborate with product designers to elevate motion and interaction from concept to implementation
  • Establish animation primitives and design-system patterns that others build on
  • Profile and optimize rendering performance, especially on lower-end Android devices
  • Contribute to architectural decisions affecting UI responsiveness (state management, render cycles, data flow)
  • Mentor engineers on interaction quality and raise the standard of “done” across the mobile org
Key requirements
  • Deep experience building polished mobile interfaces in React Native
  • Strong proficiency with Reanimated and gesture handling
  • Portfolio or demo reel of shipped work (required)
  • Experience with performance profiling (JS thread vs UI thread)
  • Experience with modern AI tooling (Cursor, Copilot) as it relates to development
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) in English
  • Ability to challenge ideas constructively and advocate for user experience
  • Cross-functional collaboration with designers and product managers
