Mobile Development Team Lead

We're working with a growing business that is investing heavily in its technology function and looking for a Mobile Development Lead to take ownership of a talented mobile engineering team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being both a technical leader and people manager, with the chance to influence mobile architecture, engineering standards and the way products are delivered.

You'll lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, supporting developers through coaching, mentoring and technical leadership while remaining close enough to the technology to influence key decisions.

You'll be involved in:

• Leading, mentoring and developing a team of software engineers
• Driving mobile architecture and technical design decisions
• Working with Flutter, APIs, Firebase and third-party integrations
• Establishing good engineering standards and development practices
• Leading code reviews and encouraging clean, maintainable code
• Promoting modern approaches to development, including AI-assisted engineering tools
• Working closely with Product and wider Engineering teams to deliver valuable customer-focused features
• Making pragmatic technical decisions and balancing technical improvements with commercial priorities
• Supporting a positive, collaborative engineering culture

We're looking for someone with a strong background in mobile development who has stepped into, or is ready to take on, a genuine technical leadership position.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience leading or line managing software engineers
• Strong hands-on experience with mobile application development and architecture
• Experience with Flutter or a comparable mobile technology
• A solid understanding of APIs, integrations and modern software development principles
• Strong knowledge of OOP, SOLID and code quality practices
• Experience with Git-based development workflows
• The ability to make architectural decisions and communicate technical concepts clearly
• A genuine interest in developing people and building high-performing engineering teams
• A customer and product-focused mindset

Experience with e-commerce, CMS platforms, analytics tools or AI-assisted development would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
