Mobile Engineer II, Android

In this role you will build and maintain Android apps across Expedia Group brands, delivering high-quality experiences for millions of travelers. You will work with a cross-brand team to design scalable features, apply engineering best practices, and ensure reliability and performance. You will also explore AI/ML-enabled capabilities to personalize and optimize outcomes while upholding privacy and security standards. • Develop Android applications using Kotlin with solid understanding of platform capabilities and UI patterns
• Design and implement low-level designs, APIs, and data models for mobile features that integrate with backend services
• Apply software engineering best practices: testing, code reviews, CI/CD to ensure reliability, performance, and security
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across teams to refine solutions and deliver iteratively
• Safely integrate AI/ML-enabled solutions to improve outcomes such as personalization and recommendations while ensuring data privacy and security

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience
• Experience shipping Android applications using Kotlin in production, with ownership of features within a larger app
• Ability to design and implement mobile LLDS, APIs, and data models and work with microservices-based backends
• Proficiency with core Android tools and practices: version control, testing, debugging, performance optimization, CI/CD pipelines
