Mobile Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer at Aberdeen Adviser, you will shape quality practices across multiple agile squads in Edinburgh. You will define testing strategies, mentor teams, and drive automated and exploratory testing for web and mobile apps. You’ll advance AI-driven testing and improve reliability, security, and user outcomes. This role blends hands-on testing with coaching to raise our product quality and delivery. • Define test strategies and coverage across unit, component, API, integration and end-to-end testing layers
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and product managers to embed quality early in development
• Design and contribute to automated and exploratory testing for web and mobile apps (iOS/Android)
• Mentor engineering teams on testing best practices, CI/CD integration, automation and shift-left quality
• Drive improvements in testing frameworks, tooling, performance, accessibility, security and service resilience testing
• Leverage AI-driven testing techniques to improve coverage, execution efficiency and defect detection

• Experience in both manual and automated software testing and understanding when each approach is appropriate
• Experience testing mobile applications on iOS and/or Android
• Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, JUnit or Postman
• Experience defining testing strategies and working within agile, cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Azure, and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to coach and influence engineers to improve quality practices and standards
