Mobile Support Manager

Contract: Part-time, Permanent - 37 hours per week/ 40 weeks per year

What you will do

• Provide responsive “On Call” support during lessons and help staff manage behaviour incidents.
• Encourage students to arrive at lessons on time and record, monitor and report concerns relating to lateness or absence from lessons.
• Supervise students in the Restoration Room and support restorative, mentoring and reintegration work.
• Use de-escalation strategies and sound judgement to promote the safety of students, staff and visitors.
• Build constructive relationships with students, families and carers, keeping them appropriately informed and involved.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and communicate effectively with colleagues and external agencies.
• Contribute to break and lunchtime duties, site security, school trips and wider school activities.

What we are looking for

• Above all, you will be someone young people can trust and colleagues can rely on.
• You will have experience of working successfully with young people and the confidence to respond to challenging behaviour without losing sight of the person behind it.
• You will communicate clearly, remain composed when situations are difficult and combine warmth and empathy with consistent professional boundaries.
• You will be comfortable taking initiative, working as part of a team and building constructive relationships with families and partner agencies.
• You may already work in a school, youth service, alternative provision, care, community safety or another setting where relationships, sound judgement and calm decision-making matter.
• You do not need to be a teacher.
• You do need to believe that young people can change, that high expectations and strong relationships belong together, and that the right adult at the right moment can make all the difference.

You might help a student regulate before a situation escalates, support a colleague at exactly the right moment or help a young person understand what went wrong and what needs to happen next. The work can be demanding, but it is purposeful. You will help protect learning, strengthen belonging and ensure students get another opportunity to succeed.
