Model Release Engineer

In this role you will design and operate the end-to-end model-release platform for Wayve's AI Driver models. You will automate multi-system workflows, improving speed, reliability and transparency from feature integration to production release. You’ll work with Product and Engineering teams to align interfaces and resolve integration challenges, using AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery. This position sits at the intersection of MLOps, simulation, testing and release management, shaping scalable deployment of autonomous driving models.

- Design and build automated end-to-end model-release workflows from feature integration through training, evaluation, approval and promotion
- Integrate the platform with systems across Model Engineering, MLOps, Simulation, Measurement, On-Road Testing, Operations and Release Management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align requirements, interfaces and resolve conflicts in shared workflows
- Increase reliability, scalability and observability via monitoring, alerting and tooling
- Provide clear visibility of model candidates, progress, evaluation results, approvals and release status
- Leverage AI-assisted development and agentic workflows to automate repetitive engineering tasks
- Strong software engineering experience with production-grade services in Python
- Experience designing distributed systems, APIs or microservices connecting multiple tools/workflows
- Proven ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and align stakeholders
- Experience operating cloud-based services using Kubernetes with focus on reliability and performance
- Knowledge of observability, monitoring and alerting with meaningful service-health metrics
- Comfort using AI coding tools and agents to boost productivity and automation
