Lead monitoring transformation as a Monitoring and Observability Engineer in Halifax, working hybrid with two office days weekly. Use LogicMonitor to improve reliability.

This experienced engineer will develop an organisation-wide monitoring capability and lead migration from Icinga, Grafana, and Prometheus. The work spans infrastructure, networks, applications, databases, and critical services, using alerting standards, dashboards, and service health insights to strengthen visibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead migration from Icinga, Grafana, and Prometheus to LogicMonitor
  • Define monitoring, alerting, and dashboard standards organisation-wide
  • Improve visibility across infrastructure, networks, applications, and databases
  • Reduce alert noise and create actionable notifications
  • Integrate monitoring with ITSM, automation, and AIOps platforms

Requirements:

  • Experience as a monitoring and observability specialist
  • Background with enterprise monitoring platforms
  • Experience with LogicMonitor, Icinga, Grafana, and Prometheus
  • Knowledge of alerting strategies, dashboards, and service monitoring
  • Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash
