Mortgage Credit Underwriter

Evaluating mortgage loan files that fall outside standard underwriting guidelines, the part-time Mortgage Credit Exception Underwriter will analyze borrower risk, ensure compliance with regulations, and make recommendations based on compensating factors in a remote setting. Key Responsibilities Review mortgage loan applications requiring credit exceptions to established underwriting guidelines Analyze borrower credit history, income, assets, collateral, and overall risk profile Document exception decisions with clear, detailed rationale Required Qualifications 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience, with the most recent 2 years specifically in Non-QM Strong knowledge of all Non-QM loan products (DSCR, bank statement, asset qualification, full doc, P&L, and 1099) Proficiency with Encompass and Microsoft Office applications Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
