Municipal IT Systems Technician

Support Microsoft 365 and cybersecurity for the City of Winkler in Winkler, maintaining reliable technology for staff and public services.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the IT Technician supports City staff, systems, and technology infrastructure. The work covers Microsoft 365, Windows systems, enterprise networks, hardware, software, and cybersecurity. Approximately three years of relevant experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily technical support to City staff and maintain equipment
• Administer Microsoft 365, user accounts, and access permissions
• Troubleshoot servers, Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and backups
• Monitor cybersecurity controls and assist with incident recovery
• Coordinate vendors, documentation, inventories, licences, and IT projects

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Hands-on business or enterprise IT support experience
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Windows, networks, and cybersecurity practices
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
