Overview

In this role you will help modernize Disney’s e-commerce and marketing sites within the Travel Company division, applying back-end technology evolution and migration strategies. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to maintain and extend a bespoke platform, adopting scalable, robust patterns. You will advocate best practices and contribute to a cloud-hosted, future-ready architecture. This position offers the chance to influence digital commerce for international guests and collaborate in a values-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support back-end website development to deliver complex solutions across full development life cycle
  • Maintain and update the bespoke Classic ASP e-commerce platform with the Digital Commerce & Production Manager
  • Develop features for a localized ASP.NET MVC 5 platform and migrate legacy features to the new platform
  • Write maintainable, scalable, fault-tolerant code using SOLID, OO design, and TDD
  • Manage development tools, environments, and deployment workflows
  • Collaborate with team to define workflows and services for version control and deployment
  • Log and troubleshoot errors using appropriate tools
  • Research and adopt techniques to stay at the forefront of technology and enhance offerings
Key requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of digital experience with strong portfolio
  • Experience in bespoke ecommerce web applications
  • Experience in a development role (client or agency side)
  • Degree or equivalent in STEM or Computer Science
  • Strong C# development skills (ASP.Net, MVC5)
  • SOAP WebServices and RESTful WebAPIs experience
  • SQL Server and T-SQL proficiency
  • Experience with .NET ORMs (Entity Framework) desirable
  • Knowledge of CI and automated build services (GitLab, TeamCity, Cake)
  • Experience with SDL Tridion or similar CMS desirable
  • Experience with IOC containers (Autofac, Ninject) desirable
  • Unit testing frameworks (NUnit, MOQ)
  • HTML/JS/CSS and client-side technologies
  • Agile methodology experience
  • Git and git-flow with Atlassian SourceTree; Jira usage
  • Ability to work in small, collaborative teams and meet milestones
  • Performance tuning and debugging skills
