About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Network Administrator to manage and maintain their IT infrastructure in Kimberley . This role is critical for ensuring the reliable operation of our computer networks, including LANs, WANs, and related hardware and software. You will be responsible for network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and security. This hybrid position allows for essential in-office presence for hardware management and team collaboration in our Kimberley location, complemented by the flexibility of remote work for certain operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure optimal speed and availability.
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and threats.
- Perform regular backups of network data and ensure disaster recovery procedures are in place.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights to network resources.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users regarding network connectivity and issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network hardware (routers, switches).
- Experience with firewall configuration and network security best practices.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or similar are highly desirable.
