Overview

In this role you will design, implement and support resilient enterprise networks and unified communications within a regulated financial services setting. You will ensure high availability, security and performance across LAN/WAN, data centres and cloud networking, working with infrastructure, security and service management teams. You’ll tackle voice and UC solutions to maintain call quality, while driving continuous improvements and risk-aligned changes. This position offers scope to influence network design, security posture and disaster recovery planning in a high-stakes environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement and maintain routing and switching (VLANs, STP, QoS, OSPF/BGP) with high-availability patterns
  • Support WAN and remote connectivity (MPLS/SD-WAN, VPN, IPSec/SSL) for performance and resilience
  • Administer network security controls (firewalls, NAC, segmentation, secure access)
  • Engineer voice and unified communications (SIP, VoIP, SBCs, call routing, dial plans, IVR)
  • Manage incident, problem and change processes with root cause analysis and post-incident reviews
  • Monitor and troubleshoot using tools (SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark) and document/runbooks
  • Collaborate on DR/BCP testing, capacity planning, and lifecycle/patching per risk/compliance
  • Contribute to automation and configuration management (scripts, templates, IAC)
Key requirements
  • Strong hands-on experience in enterprise networks with high-availability and low-latency requirements
  • Cisco and/or Juniper routing/switching expertise; solid TCP/IP/DNS/DHCP knowledge
  • Experience with voice technologies (SIP, RTP, codecs, QoS for voice) and enterprise UC platforms
  • Firewalls and network security principles; familiarity with IDS/IPS and secure access patterns
  • Experience with cloud networking (Azure/AWS) including VNET/VPC, routing, VPN/ExpressRoute/Direct Connect
  • Strong troubleshooting and clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in regulated environments (financial services) with audit/change control/risk awareness
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP (Enterprise/Collaboration) or JNCIP; ITIL knowledge
