Network Authority

As Engineering Authority in Vodafone's 3rd line Network Operations, you will maintain DNS and RADIUS infrastructure supporting national and international customers. You lead major incidents, drive improvements through post-incident reviews, and oversee deployments from design to production. You collaborate across UK and international teams to enable scalable, high-availability services and contribute to lifecycle management and automation. • Maintain DNS and RADIUS solutions (FreeRADIUS, LDAP, AnswerX, Unbound, CacheServe, BIND) for consumer, business, enterprise and wholesale clients
• Lead complex and major incidents; drive post-incident reviews and root cause analysis
• Validate new features, upgrades, and deployments in production environments using structured testing
• Identify and deliver automation opportunities for operations and lifecycle management
• Act as technical lead for DNS/RADIUS projects, review Low-Level Designs and High-Level Designs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements and network growth
• Support knowledge sharing and transfers within the team and with international peers
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rota to provide after-hours support

• 5+ years in operational and lifecycle management within a large ISP or equivalent network
• Experience with DNS, IPAM, DHCP, RADIUS (AAA) and LDAP
• Strong knowledge of DNS security, DNSSEC, DDoS mitigation, caching architectures and resolver tuning
• Deep understanding of RADIUS AAA and related attributes
• Linux system administration and scripting in Bash/Python
• Strong experience with network monitoring platforms and fault diagnostics
• Ability to think critically and communicate the broader implications of issues
