Overview

As part of the Colo Infrastructure team at G-Research, you design and build automation for high-performance, low-latency network infrastructure. You’ll develop IaC-driven pipelines and self-service tooling to accelerate deployment and reliability. You collaborate with network, platform, and security teams to deliver scalable, resilient systems and contribute to incident response and on-call reliability. This role offers impact in a fast-paced, research-led environment that values methodical execution and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Build and evolve automation frameworks for network provisioning and lifecycle management
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using Python, Ansible, Terraform and Jinja2
  • Integrate network automation into CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments
  • Create APIs and self-service tooling for engineering teams
  • Implement observability and telemetry for performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with network, platform and security teams to deliver scalable systems
  • Contribute to incident response and production reliability
  • On-call responsibilities for critical parts of the infrastructure
Key requirements
  • Experience managing high-performance, low-latency, scalable network infrastructure
  • Proficiency in Python and general engineering fundamentals (testing, VCS, CI/CD)
  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform and Jinja2
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Exposure to monitoring/observability/telemetry in distributed systems
  • Pragmatic problem solver, able to handle ambiguity and take ownership
  • Collaborative in fast-paced engineering teams
  • Deep networking fundamentals; ideally financial markets networking experience
  • Experience leveraging AI tools like Claude Code
