Network Automation Engineer

As part of the Colo Infrastructure team at G-Research, you design and build automation for high-performance, low-latency network infrastructure. You’ll develop IaC-driven pipelines and self-service tooling to accelerate deployment and reliability. You collaborate with network, platform, and security teams to deliver scalable, resilient systems and contribute to incident response and on-call reliability. This role offers impact in a fast-paced, research-led environment that values methodical execution and continuous improvement.

- Build and evolve automation frameworks for network provisioning and lifecycle management
- Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using Python, Ansible, Terraform and Jinja2
- Integrate network automation into CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments
- Create APIs and self-service tooling for engineering teams
- Implement observability and telemetry for performance and reliability
- Collaborate with network, platform and security teams to deliver scalable systems
- Contribute to incident response and production reliability
- On-call responsibilities for critical parts of the infrastructure
- Experience managing high-performance, low-latency, scalable network infrastructure
- Proficiency in Python and general engineering fundamentals (testing, VCS, CI/CD)
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform and Jinja2
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
- Exposure to monitoring/observability/telemetry in distributed systems
- Pragmatic problem solver, able to handle ambiguity and take ownership
- Collaborative in fast-paced engineering teams
- Deep networking fundamentals; ideally financial markets networking experience
- Experience leveraging AI tools like Claude Code
