Network Automation Engineer (Cisco/Meraki)

Overview

In this role you will support our global network infrastructure, delivering 3rd line engineering and contributing to time-sensitive network projects. You will work within the Infrastructure team to design, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise networks across offices and datacentres. The position emphasizes automation, documentation, and knowledge sharing to reduce downtime and drive resilient services. This is a hands-on opportunity at a large FTSE-listed business with a focus on network modernization and security.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 3rd line network support and project delivery within tight timeframes
  • Lead or contribute to the design, configuration and installation of network projects (office moves, expansions, vendor replacements)
  • Create and maintain accurate project and technical documentation
  • Conduct workshops and share knowledge with team members and other teams
  • Develop SME-level knowledge in a technology area and support proactive monitoring to reduce downtime
  • Write post-incident reviews and implement corrective actions
  • Test performance of network, applications, and servers; generate metrics and improvement plans
  • Ensure adherence to IT security policies and assist with enforcement and monitoring
  • Manage on-call rota and participate in weekend network maintenance
Key requirements
  • CCNP level certification or above
  • Strong experience as a Level 3 Network Engineer
  • Cisco and Meraki product experience
  • Configuration/troubleshooting of Cisco FTD, FMC, Switches, and Nexus 5k/9k
  • Meraki MX, MS, MR, and SD-WAN experience
  • Cisco Catalyst, ISR, and DNA Center administration
  • CUCM/Cisco Voice experience
  • Cisco ISE experience
  • Multicast problem-solving skills
  • Azure cloud network understanding
  • Network automation using Python
  • Cisco AnyConnect VPN experience
  • Linux experience (preferred)
  • ITIL knowledge
  • On-call and weekend maintenance readiness
