Network Design Data Product Owner

Overview

In this role, you drive end-to-end data products that enable smarter planning, design, and optimization of the electricity transmission network in England and Wales. You will partner with the Data Product Manager, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted, actionable insights for operational excellence and strategic decision-making. You’ll shape data products from discovery through delivery, balancing user needs with data governance and quality. This is an opportunity to influence how network design teams make data-driven decisions in a Net Zero context.

Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end data product lifecycle from discovery to continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with business objectives and user needs
  • Define, refine, and prioritize product backlogs; create user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Coordinate stakeholder workshops; translate business needs into product requirements
  • Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and SMEs to validate data quality and rules
  • Support data governance, lineage, and data product catalogues
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure timely product releases
  • Monitor product performance and user adoption to drive enhancements
  • Contribute to data accessibility, reliability, and usability improvements
  • Promote data-driven decision-making across Network Design teams
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
  • Experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Product environment
  • Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills
