Overview
In this role you will design, build, and operate large-scale network infrastructure for AWS, applying automation to reduce manual work and improve reliability. You’ll work with top networking engineers to scale and sustain the cloud network while delivering value to customers. The position combines hands-on engineering with operations and incident response in a fast, innovative environment. You will own meaningful network improvements and contribute to a high-impact, globally scalable platform.
Responsibilities- Lead network projects across sustaining engineering, deployment/implementation, scaling, refreshes, best practices, and optimization
- Influence operations by responding to customer impact events, troubleshooting, and improving automation across the network
- Analyze network health using tools and metrics to ensure safe, secure operation
- Investigate issues scientifically and implement fixes to prevent recurrence
- Plan and deliver new systems, processes, and tools to simplify delivery for customers
- Deliver sustainable, repeatable network solutions and remove bottlenecks
- Develop methods to safely implement new networking technologies into the environment
- Relevant degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience in a large-scale network environment
- Hands-on experience with routing protocols/technologies in large data centre or WAN environments
- Experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms for IP networking systems
- Experience in a technical on-call capacity, handling customer-impact events and root-cause analysis
- Experience interacting with multiple network devices via configuration tools, IaC, or scripting
