Overview

As a Network Core Specialist, you will design and optimize scalable, highly available networks across data centers, campuses, and cloud environments. You will translate business needs into robust architectures, document solutions, and lead multi-vendor projects with internal and external partners. You will advance automation and security, provide L3 escalation support, and drive performance improvements in a collaborative setting that aligns with Squarepoint’s objectives. This role offers impact through shaping enterprise network solutions at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Design scalable, high-availability network architectures for LAN, WAN, DC, campus and cloud
  • Translate business requirements into technical network designs and documentation
  • Lead project delivery with internal/ external vendors and ensure timely execution
  • Evaluate and select hardware software components based on requirements
  • Advance network automation and innovations to improve performance and cost efficiency
  • Support network reliability team to ensure proper implementation and operation
  • Provide L3 escalation support for performance/availability issues
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and other infrastructure teams to align with business objectives
  • Monitor and document network changes and health using tooling and dashboards
Key requirements
  • Degree in Network engineering, Computer Science, or related IT discipline
  • CCNP certification or higher (CCIE preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years in network engineering and project delivery
  • Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, EVPN)
  • Multicast (PIM, RP, MSDP, IGMP, SSM) and Switching (STP, PC/vPC/MLAG, CDP/LLDP, QoS, HSRP/VRRP, VLAN/VxLAN)
  • Monitoring: LANZ, Sflow, Kibana, Prometheus; Security: AAA, device hardening
  • Experience with Arista / Cisco; Datacenter/office network buildout
  • Networking diagnostic tools (netcat, tcptrace, Wireshark)
  • Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure); scripting/automation (Git, Python, Ansible)
  • Monitoring/ orchestration tools (Prometheus, CVP, Elastic, Grafana)
  • Unified Communications/Voice tech familiarity; Cybersecurity tech (Palo Alto, Fortinet)
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and documentation
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Arista and Cisco network hardware
  • Routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, EVPN
  • Multicast and switching technologies
