Overview

In this role you will design, deploy and operate ultra-low latency network infrastructure across Squarepoint’s global colocation footprint to support intraday trading and direct market access. You will partner with trading systems teams to optimize performance, document procedures, and serve as the escalation point for changes in the collocation environment. Expect hands-on engineering, monitoring, and automation work across multiple data centers, with travel as needed. Your work directly impacts the stability, efficiency, and latency of the trading platform, enabling faster, more reliable execution.

Responsibilities
  • Architect and deploy ULN infrastructure at colocation data centers
  • Ensure operational controls and reporting for performance optimization
  • Develop and maintain network procedures and documentation
  • Provide L3 escalation support for performance/availability issues
  • Collaborate with trading systems developers to align networking with trading needs
  • Identify efficiency improvements through automation and innovative solutions
  • Support global changes across co-location sites and data centers
  • Act as escalation point for incident remediation and change management
Key requirements
  • Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related IT discipline
  • CCIE Routing & Switching (Enterprise Infrastructure) certification with lab
  • ≥8 years of network engineering and project delivery experience
  • Extensive routing and switching knowledge (OSPF, BGP, NAT, IPSEC, GRE)
  • Unicast and Multicast protocols (PIM, RP, MSDP, IGMP)
  • Switching technologies (STP, PC/vPC/MLAG, CDP/LLDP, QoS, HSRP/VRRP, VLAN/VxLAN)
  • Authoritative experience with Arista and Cisco hardware
  • Strong PCAP-based network monitoring knowledge
  • Scripting ability (Python preferred)
  • Trade flow protocols (FIX, BOE, OUCH/ITCH, PILLAR, SBE, OMEX)
  • FPGA-based applications and L1 network design familiarity
  • Experience with various switch vendors and architectures
