As a Security Services Engineer, you protect live production environments from network threats and coordinate closely with customers during high-pressure incidents. You will triage security events, monitor traffic, and contribute to incident response and post-incident reviews. The role sits within a SOC/IT security context, aligning with ITIL processes and knowledge-sharing to improve detection and mitigation playbooks. You will steadily grow your cybersecurity and networking expertise while supporting customer maintenance and communications. Responsibilities- Triage and resolve security incidents and customer tickets in live production environments (1st/2nd line).
- Monitor, analyse, and investigate network traffic and emerging threats, including active DDoS activity.
- Support customer maintenance, upgrades, and technical communications.
- Contribute to incident response and post-incident reviews to improve playbooks.
- Work within ITIL processes and document procedures; grow the SOC knowledge base and share learnings.
- Progressively deepen expertise across cybersecurity and networking.
- 1–2 years’ experience in a SOC, IT support, networking, or similar technical role.
- Strong networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, routing, and packet analysis with solid troubleshooting instincts.
- Ability to prioritise, stay organised, and communicate clearly under pressure.
- Comfort with a fast-paced, shift-based environment (nights/weekends).
- Nice to have: experience with SIEM (Splunk preferred), DDoS/network security knowledge, virtualization (KVM, ESXi), Linux, scripting (Python, Bash), and relevant certifications.
