Overview
As a Pre-Sales Network Systems Engineer, you act as a trusted advisor to UK public sector customers, shaping network solutions that span data center, routing and campus domains. You collaborate with account managers to understand challenges, design architectures, and lead customer engagements from POC to deployment. You engage in RFP/RFQ responses, contribute to product feedback, and represent Arista at events, driving innovative, differentiated solutions.
Responsibilities- Partner with Account Managers to understand customer challenges and run network architecture sessions and product presentations
- Architect, design and propose Data Center, Routing & Campus network and security solutions to generate new sales
- Perform hands-on customer proof-of-concepts and initial network deployments
- Create design guidelines and recommend improvements to customer networks
- Lead technical responses to RFP/RFQs
- Lead customer feature requests from requirements through to deployment
- Provide customer feedback to Product Management and Development
- Represent Arista at industry events and conferences
- Stay up-to-date on competitive solutions and offerings
- Author white papers, blogs and articles on technology and products
- Active Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Sales attitude and proactive team player
- Ability to travel nationally to support customers
- Technical degree required
- Networking design and implementation experience
- Hands-on routing and switching experience with relevant protocols
- Recent experience in Data Center, Routing and/or Campus network architecture designs
- Excellent presentation skills
- Deep knowledge of switching and routing protocols (e.g., Spanning Tree, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, VXLAN, EVPN, Multicast, QoS, Network Segmentation)
- Knowledge of Service Provider technologies is a plus
- Knowledge of Campus technologies is a plus
- Understanding of competitor technology landscape
- Experience in Sales Engineer/ Solutions Architect/ Pre-Sales Systems Engineer or Network Consulting Engineer roles
- Security deployment experience is a plus
- Recent hands-on CLI experience
- Interest in Netops/Devops with Python and Ansible
- CCIE, JNCIE or industry equivalent certified
