Network Technician

Allied Personnel Services is seeking candidates for a Network Technician opening! This temporary position is expected to last about 3 months. Hours are 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri. Pay is $26.73/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Terminate, test, label and dress Ethernet cables (Cat5e/Cat6)
• Mount switches, routers, firewalls, power distribution units (PDUs), and UPS systems into server racks
• Perform layer 1 and layer 2 troubleshooting by identifying port link statuses, swapping bad patch cables/SPFs, tracing cable runs, and performing physical connectivity testing.
• Connect console cables to network equipment
• Establish serial sessions (ex – via PuTTY) and give remote access to other network team members
• Administer network equipment via command line interface
• Update internal tickets, label equipment accurately, and maintain floor plan/rack documentation

Candidates should have demonstrated experience providing network services at an enterprise level. The ability to lift and position equipment up to 50lbs and comfort on ladders or in tight server closets is a must. Candidates must also have a valid driver’s license with transportation to travel between locations if needed. xhqgsiq
