NOC Engineer

In this role you will monitor and maintain Proofpoint’s global production environment to ensure high availability for customers. You will work with an international NOC team to manage incidents and resolve complex network, hardware, and OS issues efficiently. The position requires rotating shifts for 24x7 coverage, primarily 06:00-19:00 GMT/BST. You will drive modernization and continuous improvement of operating procedures using AI tooling and enhanced documentation, contributing to reliable, scalable service delivery.

• Incident management and workload execution
• Coordinate with senior team members to identify patterns or trends
• Maintain and improve operational standards and documentation (runbooks, knowledge articles, procedures)
• Support modernization and continuous service improvement (CSI)
• Apply AI tooling to improve operational practices and monitoring refinement

• Strong technical knowledge with Linux OS for diagnosing and resolving incidents on production systems
• Major Incident Management experience including documenting actions and communicating updates
• Basic understanding of core network concepts (switching and routing) and cloud computing principles
• Proficiency in monitoring internal production systems using the company’s monitoring tooling
