What You'll Do
- Serve as an advisory resource to effectively utilize clinical information systems.
- Act as a liaison/problem solver between nursing staff and IT staff.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to streamline documentation of practice.
- Demonstrate expertise in clinical care, medical center operations, and clinical informatics.
- Serve as a role model for bridging clinical care and information technology.
- Participate in business process analyses and needs assessments.
- Utilize information technology to attain excellence in patient outcomes.
- Participate in clinical informatics technology projects from planning to implementation.
- Develop policies and procedures related to system usage and clinical workflow.
- Prioritize and delegate tasks to less experienced Nurse Informaticians.
Requirements
Education:- Master’s degree in Nursing Informatics or equivalent experience preferred
- 5 years experience in Information Technology/Computer Science and/or clinical healthcare discipline
- Current Registered Nurse license in New York
- BLS certification required
