Okta Engineer – Contract

Duration: 9 months

Location: London – hybrid, typically 1–2 days onsite per week

Start: ASAP

Rate: £500 per day, outside IR35

We’re supporting a leading organisation seeking a hands‑on Okta Engineer to join its Identity team. You’ll maintain and improve enterprise identity services, deliver application integrations and automate access management across a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Okta SSO integrations using SAML and OpenID Connect.
• Implement automated application provisioning and deprovisioning through SCIM.
• Support and improve joiner, mover and leaver processes.
• Troubleshoot authentication, authorisation, account and access issues.
• Develop automation using PowerShell and Terraform.
• Build operational identity dashboards and analyse Okta and directory data.
• Work closely with application owners, Cyber Security and operational teams.
• Maintain platform configurations, monitoring and technical documentation.

Skills and experience

• Hands‑on experience administering and supporting Okta Workforce.
• Strong understanding of SSO, SAML, OIDC, MFA and identity lifecycle management.
• Experience implementing SCIM provisioning.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace.
• Practical PowerShell scripting and Terraform experience.
• Experience building dashboards using BigQuery, Looker Studio or comparable data visualisation tools.
• Proficiency with Google Sheets.
• Understanding of DNS, SSL certificates and Okta security best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

CyberArk or other Privileged Access Management experience would be beneficial.
