Locums - Potsdam, New York Radiation Oncologist Job

Start Date: 12/28/2026Reason for Coverage: Physician vacation

Coverage Schedule:

  • Week of 12/28/2026 - 3-day stretch

  • Week of 01/04/2027 - 3-day stretch

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday preferred, but other options will be considered

  • Shift options:

    • 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

    • 9:00 AM-5:30 PM

  • No call required

  • 30-minute lunch break required

  • Overtime must be approved

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient medical histories and conduct diagnostic testing to determine appropriate treatment strategies

  • Develop personalized radiation therapy treatment plans based on cancer type, stage, and location

  • Administer radiation therapy, including stereotactic radiosurgery and other advanced treatment methods

  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

  • Manage potential side effects of radiation therapy

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide comprehensive cancer care

  • Participate in radiation oncology research to improve patient outcomes

Practice Details:

  • Adult patients with a wide variety of acute medical conditions

  • Patient ratio: 1:10-15

  • Level I Perinatal Center

  • SAFE Designated Center

  • Primary Stroke Center

  • EMR: Epic

  • Automated medication dispensing system: Pyxis

Support Staff:

  • 1 Provider

  • 1 Nurse Practitioner

  • 1 LPN

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must be Board Certified Radiation Oncology

  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience

  • Active NY License

  • Epic experience required

Certifications:

  • AHA BLS

  • ACLS
