Overview

OpenCPI Senior Software Engineer to join the Gloucester team working on defence, cyber and intelligence programmes. You will design, develop, test and deploy software-defined radio systems using the OpenCPI framework, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet mission requirements. You’ll apply cutting-edge RF/SDR expertise and explore AI/ML tooling in hybrid cloud environments to deliver impactful solutions. This role combines hands-on engineering with agile collaboration and clear delivery within a high-security context.

Responsibilities
  • OpenCPI Framework Utilization – develop and integrate SDRs using OpenCPI
  • System Design & Integration – design and integrate RF communication systems in complex environments
  • Test & Measurement – apply test-driven development and lifecycle verification
  • Software Optimization – maximize performance and reliability across hardware platforms
  • Innovation – leverage AI/ML tooling and hybrid cloud compute to push boundaries
  • Collaboration & Reporting – work in Agile teams with Delivery Managers and Technical Leads to ensure timely, right solutions
Key requirements
  • OpenCPI framework experience including development of OSPs, components, applications and tests
  • RF communications and SDR technologies experience
  • DSP, algorithm or payload development, embedded system design
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and/or VHDL for embedded apps, plus Python
