Role: OpenShift Engineer
Engagement: 6 month Contract inside IR35
Location: 2-3 days per week onsite in Yorkshire
Role Overview:
We are seeking several highly skilled OpenShift Engineers to support the designs and build of a secure, compliant, and resilient platform.
Key Responsibilities
- OpenShift virtualization, including VM life cycle management, migration from vSphere, and production operations.
- Contribute to the planning and mapping of the client's OpenShift environment
- Assess VMware estates and define OpenShift sizing, capacity, and cluster topology
- Platform engineering capability on OpenShift, with GitOps-led operations, operator life cycle management, and enterprise governance.
- Implement platform security, RBAC, network segmentation, and compliance controls
- Automate provisioning and configuration using Ansible, Terraform, or GitOps
- Troubleshoot issues across OpenShift, Kubernetes, VMware, networking, and storage
Essential Skills
- Deep infrastructure troubleshooting capability spanning storage, networking, and performance for VM-based workloads on OpenShift.
- Experience designing and building OpenShift platforms in enterprise or regulated environments
- Strong VMware vSphere knowledge (ESXi, vCenter, networking, resource pools)
- Solid Kubernetes or RHEL engineering background
- Automation Experience (Ansible, Terraform, GitOps)
- Ability to diagnose cross-layer issues and lead incident resolution with confidence.
