Operation Support Engineer

As an Operation Support Engineer, you will help coordinate the safe, efficient maintenance and refit of Royal Navy warships. You’ll work at the heart of Warship Support, collaborating with engineers, subcontractors and project teams to ensure work is planned, documented, and delivered safely. The role offers exposure to a complex marine engineering environment and the chance to contribute to national defence while developing your career with a leading defence company. • Create management tasks, work packages and control documentation to support maintenance activities
• Write risk assessments, method statements and other safety-related documentation
• Liaise with contractors, customers and stakeholders to coordinate project activities
• Support the oversight and coordination of specialist subcontractors working on-site
• Manage scaffold requests and ensure work requirements are processed efficiently and within project timescales

• Experience using Microsoft Office applications for documentation and coordination
• Knowledge of health and safety principles within an operational or engineering environment
• Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and contractors
• Previous experience within a marine, shipbuilding, ship repair or defence environment would be advantageous
• Experience gained within scaffolding, painting, slinging or other itinerant trades would be beneficial
• Capable of physical tasks and working onboard ships, including confined spaces
