Operational Excellence & Process Technology Lead

In this role you will act as the subject-matter expert for the Müller Production System (MPS) at the Telford site, driving operational excellence and process reliability. You will coach managers, team leaders and operators to implement MPS and OpEx tools, shaping the unit’s performance through data-driven improvements. You’ll build capability, support new product introductions, and partner with Quality and Engineering to raise process capability and efficiency. This is a high-visibility, impact role focused on sustainable cost, quality and productivity improvements.

- Serve as the MPS and OpEx expert within the unit
- Coach managers, team leaders and operators in MPS and OpEx tools
- Drive unit-level MPS implementation and OpEx maturity
- Develop and maintain an OpEx improvement roadmap
- Support the unit with OpEx maturity assessments
- Improve OEE, waste, material losses and productivity
- Ensure robust performance data and reporting systems
- Support and track VPO and cost-saving initiatives
- Resolve chronic process and reliability issues
- Define and maintain critical process parameters and centrelines
- Collaborate with Quality to improve process capability and technical competence
- Build technical capability through training and coaching of operators and technicians
- Support NPD as the unit’s technology expert
- Degree-qualified (Engineering or similar) or equivalent experience
- Strong background in manufacturing, process technology or operational excellence
- Experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement / MPS / OpEx frameworks
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent (desirable)
- Strong understanding of OEE, TPM, waste reduction and process reliability
- Confident coach with the ability to influence without authority
- Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality and Engineering
