Overview

As an Operational Resilience Engineer at Cboe, you design and build automated workflows that strengthen operational risk controls across incident management, BCP/DR, change management, and compliance. You will enable real-time data flow between platforms and develop AI-assisted processes to reduce manual toil. This role supports Technology and Operations, delivering end-to-end solutions that improve resilience, speed, and decision-making. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to implement governance, testing programs, and self-service tooling, driving measurable improvements in resilience metrics. Responsibilities
  • Maintain an inventory of business services, criticality, and resilience attributes
  • Identify risks, support business impact assessments, and document BCP aligned with RTOs and RPOs
  • Lead governance, monitoring, and reporting of operational resilience to senior management
  • Build end-to-end automations for incident lifecycle management and action tracking
  • Integrate operational systems for real-time data flow across incident, change, and compliance platforms
  • Develop AI-assisted workflows to surface risk signals and accelerate decisions
  • Automate change management processes, including risk scoring and evidence collection
  • Create policy validation pipelines and maintain operational documentation
  • Deliver self-service tooling to empower staff and improve observability
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational metrics through instrumentation and observability
Key requirements
  • Minimum 3 years in technology risk management, business continuity, or operational resilience
  • Minimum 2 years in computer science, networking, or infrastructure-related experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities under pressure
