Optical Test Automation Engineer

Automate optical testing with Python and LabVIEW at VIAVI, developing platforms for research, development, and production applications. Work across optical systems, metrology, and calibration.

As an Optical Testing Engineer, you will develop automated solutions and support design verification for new products and components. The work combines optical test equipment, software development, testing automation, and technical reporting. You will also contribute to product transitions and collaborate across R&D.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop optical testing platforms for R&D and production
• Automate testing solutions using software and scripting
• Perform design verification and product characterization
• Generate reports with test data and analysis
• Support test station transitions from prototyping to production

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical field
• Familiarity with optical test equipment and metrology
• Proficiency in Python and LabVIEW development or scripting
• Experience developing and setting up testing solutions
• Three-plus years developing optical test systems preferred
